Painting of Cockspur Lighthouse
Tybee Island, GA
The Cockspur Lighthouse has much history originating since 1736. In 1863, it was in the direct line of fire between Tybee Island and Fort Pulaski, during a 30 hour battle, and never took a hit.
It is most famous for the legendary Florence Martus, best known as the "Waving Girl."
